The integrity of IMIRAC 2026 and the Asia Research Awards (ARA) rests on a foundation of scientific rigor and absolute impartiality. To maintain our standing as a global benchmark, we utilize a structured, data-driven framework that eliminates bias and focuses purely on merit.
Here is an elaboration on our predetermined criteria and the transparency of our evaluation process:
1. The 3-Tier Evaluation Process
Our assessment is not a single-point decision but a progressive journey of validation. This multi-layered approach ensures that every “deserved title” is vetted by multiple levels of expertise.
Tier 1: Technical Screening & Compliance
Initial verification of the Self-Appraisal Report. We check for data consistency, publication authenticity, and adherence to submission guidelines.
Tier 2: Peer Review & Domain Expertise
Profiles are sent to a sub-committee of subject matter experts (SMEs) from the American Chamber of Research and United Medical Council. They assess the quality of the research, the methodology, and the social/academic impact.
Tier 3: The Grand Jury Finalization
The top-tier nominees are reviewed by our international jury board. This stage focuses on “Leadership and Excellence”—assessing how the nominee has “added value to values” within their discipline.
2. Predetermined Assessment Criteria
The criteria are elaborate, objective, and aligned with international academic standards. We assess candidates based on the following Four Pillars of Excellence:

To ensure a level playing field for all 1,500+ annual applicants, we adhere to a strict Conflict of Interest Policy:
Blind Reviewing: Where applicable, reviewer identities are hidden from applicants to prevent external influence.
Standardized Scoring: Evaluators use a fixed rubric to assign scores, ensuring that a “Young Scientist” in Asia is measured by the same high standards as one in the West.
Evidence-Based Decisions: No award is granted without verifiable data provided in the Self-Appraisal Report.
