Bipasha Maity has won the title of ASTRA 2023 under “Asia’s Outstanding Researcher Award’. She is a Professor of Economics in the School of Management at Presidency University, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. She did B.Sc. (Economics) from Vidyasagar University, India, in 1998 and obtained the Gold Medal, the National Scholarship Medal from WBCUTA and the Harisadhan Bhattacharya Memorial Endowment Scholarship at the Bachelor level. She also did M.Sc. in Economics with a specialisation in Econometrics and Statistics from the same university in 2000 and obtained a silver medal at the master’s level. She completed her full-time doctoral programme from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, in 2007. She has total research and teaching experience of 21 years in the field of academics. She has consistently had a brilliant academic career and has so far published many research-based papers in several national and international journals of economics and management. She has contributed to 22 SCOPUS/ABDC journals in the fields of Economics and Marketing. She received the Outstanding Paper Award Winner of the Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence in 2013 for the research paper “Measuring dynamic effects of advertising: a case study in India”. She has presented her research papers at 15 international conferences. Her current research interests include applied econometrics in the areas of Business Economics and Marketing. She has learned a lot through her experience and would like to keep challenging herself and growing her skills in research.
