Dr.V.SIVASUBRAMANIAN has won the title of ASTRA 2023 under Outstanding Researcher Award for his specialization in ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING.
Dr.V.Sivasubramanian is working as Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Calicut, Kozhikode, India. He has been active instructor and researcher over the past 18 years in the fields as Energy Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Bioprocessing, Fluidization Engineering, Hydrodynamics and Mass Transfer. He completed his B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from A.C.College of Technology, Anna University, Chennai. He received his Master Degree in Petroleum Refining and Petrochemicals from Anna University and was ranked Second. Prof.V.Sivasubramanian obtained his MBA Degree in Operations Management from IGNOU, New Delhi. He acquired his Doctoral Degree in Chemical Engineering (Fluidization Engineering) from
A.C.College of Technology, Anna University, Chennai.
Dr.V.Sivasubramanian worked as Senior Plant Engineer in Tamil Nadu Industrial Explosives Limited for five years after his graduation. Later he joined as Teaching Research Associate in A.C.College of Technology, Anna University, Chennai and worked for four years and completed his Ph.D. He worked as Lecturer in Anna University for two years and then joined in NIT Calicut.
Prof.V.Sivasubramanian has more than twenty eight years of professional experience (industrial, teaching and research) in a
variety of sectors namely Explosives Industry, Fluidization Engineering, Hydrodynamics, Mass Transfer, Biochemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering (Effluent Treatment), Energy Engineering, Electrocoagulation, Biofuels, Safety Engineering, Clean Coal and Algal Technology.
Prof.V.Sivasubramanian has published 7 books and 7 book chapters. He had more than 200 publications in International Journals and Conferences. He won 15 top awards and 10 best paper awards. Seventeen students completed their Ph.D. degree under his guidance and three are ongoing. He guided 34 PG projects, 52 UG projects and 6 summer internships. He organized 3 international
conferences and one national conference. He was the coordinator for 4 FDPs and one workshop. He is serving as Editor in eight top journals and reviewed more than 175 journal papers in 70 International journals. He successfully completed 5 sponsored projects from DST & KSCSTE and currently handling a joint project under DST Clean Coal for an amount of ₹1,02,03,600/-.
Prof.V.Sivasubramanian visited Boston, USA, Indianapolis, USA; London, UK; Dubai, UAE; Bangkok, Thailand; Singapore; Kula Lumpur, Malaysia and Hong Kong, China as an invited speaker and made presentations. He had the following honors in his feather cap: Chief Guest and Plenary/Key Note Lectures-11, Guest Lectures-37 (Conferences, Seminars and FDPs), Chairing of Sessions in Conferences-15, PhD Thesis Evaluated-150 and Academic Expert Member-10.
Prof.V.Sivasubramanian assumed several administrative posts in NIT Calicut as Senate Member, Financial Advisory Committee Member, AQMC Member, Coordinator – M.Tech (Chem. Eng.) & B.Tech (Biotechnology), Faculty Recruitment, Hostel Warden, Convener for Seating Arrangement-Convocation Committee & PhD Interview Board Member and Department level as Head, Chairman-DRC, NBA Coordinator, PhD Coordinator, PG/UG Project Coordinator, Purchase Committee Member, Class Committee Chairman, Faculty Advisor, Coordinator – Seminar, Value Education, Environmental Science Projects & Students’ Association of Chemical Engineering. He has membership in various professional societies viz. IIChE Life Member, American Chemical Society Member, FICCE Fellow Member, GEPRA Life Member; IJMAE Senior Member; Universal Achievers Foundation Fellow Member.
