Mr. Suraj B Deshmukh has contributed towards Mechanical Excavation and Underground Tunnelling Technologies as a Project Engineer and pioneered in Roadheader and Tunnelling Boring Machine Mechanical Excavation. His contributions towards development of selection methodology of Roadheader and Tunnel Boring Machine in different geological conditions for rapid tunnelling are noteworthy. He was also associated with RVNL Pkg-02 project funded by ministry of railways as a Sr. Mechanical Engineer and the project is of national importance. He has 07 international research publications, 09 Indian and international conference research papers. He is a reviewer for Impact Factor SCI Journal of Korean Society of Civil Engineering (KSCE). He has guided many UG/ PG students for their project work and Internship. He was instrumental in developing selection methodology and its progress at national and international level. His expertise includes mechanical excavation, underground tunnelling technologies, plant and machinery handling. Proactive approach for machine availability with minimal downtime and maximum availability is his prime goal, sustainable development and development of new technologies for the future project growth of the plant and machinery.
Mr. Suraj B Deshmukh has completed his bachelors in engineering from GH. Raisoni College of Engineering and Technology is one of the reputed institution of Nagpur University. He has total 7 years of expertise and instrumental in the field of mechanical engineering. He has past experience in CSIR-Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research Nagpur (Mining Technology) as a project engineer, one of the renowned laboratory of Govt. of India for Research and Development under Chief Scientist Dr. Autar k Raina. He is also associated with L&T Construction as a Sr. Mechanical Engineer in Rishikesh Karnaprayag Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL Pkg-02) Project in Plant and Machinery Dept. He is working closely with Mr. Prabhu Kumar LT (Project Manager), Mr. Shankar Kumar (Plant and Machinery In-Charge) and Mr. Jayesh V Jadhav (Planning Head- Manager) the great minds in the field of tunnelling. Currently he is working with Atlas Copco as a Technical Writer in the field of Compressor Technology (CTBA). His passion for writing and critical thinking has cast his attention toward the area.
He is the recipient of “Dr. Adinath Lahiri Award” by CSIR- Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research for Highest Impact Factor publication and outstanding contribution in the field of mechanical excavation. He also receives “L&T HCIC TownHall Award for best P&M Practice” by Larsen & Toubro Construction for contribution of “development of Outriggers to enhance mucking productivity of continuous loader” The project is headed by Mr. Shankar Kumar. Also, won several awards for oral and poster presentation in several National and International Conference.
