The International Science Technology and Research Awards (ISTRA) have
announced Dr. Surinder Kaur Sidhu as the winner of the International Best
Researcher award in Pharmaceutical Sciences for 2024. Dr. Sidhu works as an
Associate Professor at Lala Lajpat Rai College of Pharmacy, Moga, Punjab, India.
Her academic achievements reflect a relentless pursuit of excellence in
Pharmaceutical Sciences.
She completed her Bachelor of Science Degree from S.Govt College of Science
Education & Research under Panjab University, Chandigarh. She enrolled at ISF
College of Pharmacy, Moga, driven by her passion for Pharmacy, and earned a
Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy in 2009 and a Master's of Pharmacy in 2014 from
Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar.
Dr. Sidhu achieved her Doctoral degree in February 2024 from CT University,
Ludhiana, Punjab under the supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Vir Vikram and co-
supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Munish Goyal. Her groundbreaking
research “HEPATOPROTECTIVE ACTIVITY OF SINIGRIN AND
CARVACROL AGAINST PARACETAMOL INDUCED LIVER INJURY IN
WISTAR RATS” earned her the Best International Researcher award. Animal
studies at ISFCP, Moga guided by Prof. (Dr.) Shamsher Singh provided her with a
platform to carry out the research work of this stature
Known for adaptability and a results-oriented mindset, Dr. Sidhu is committed to
making meaningful contributions and building foundations for the next generation
of academics and workforce pioneers. She has guided projects, presented papers
and posters at various National and International Conferences, and published
review and research articles. Complementing her technical skills, her strengths in
critical thinking, problem-solving, and devising innovative approaches along with
her interpersonal abilities will be assets to her prospective role as a post-doctoral
researcher abroad.
