Dr. Pranab Das" has won the title of ISTRA 2024 under "International Best
Researcher Award", marking a significant achievement in his burgeoning medical
career. Currently pursuing an M.D. degree in Pharmacology at Silchar Medical
College and Hospital, Silchar, Assam, Dr. Das is deeply committed to advancing the
field of medical research through his work in Pharmacology. With a passion for
research and medicine, he has been steadily building a reputation as a dedicated
academic and researcher with a focus on pharmacological innovations that improve
patient outcomes.
Dr. Das began his medical education by earning his M.B.B.S. degree (Hons.) from
North Bengal Medical College and Hospital in 2020, where he gained foundational
knowledge and honed his clinical skills. His academic journey has been shaped by a
deep interest in Pharmacology, prompting him to specialize in this field during his
postgraduate studies. At Silchar Medical College and Hospital, he continues to
explore the intricate mechanisms of drug actions and interactions, driven by a desire
to make meaningful contributions to the field. His understanding of both theoretical
and practical aspects of pharmacology equips him with a unique skill set that is
critical for modern medical practice. In addition, he was honoured with prestigious
medals in the disciplines of Pathology and Microbiology, in recognition of his
outstanding academic performance and exceptional contributions to these fields.
Throughout his academic career, Dr. Das has actively participated in several national
and international conferences. His research presentations, both paper and poster,
have garnered recognition, with two paper presentations and one award-winning
poster presentation at national-level Pharmacology workshops, highlighting his ability
to communicate complex scientific ideas effectively. His participation in these events
not only reflects his expertise but also his enthusiasm for staying abreast of the latest
developments in pharmacology.
Dr. Das’s research has also been published internationally, with three publications in
renowned journals to his name. These works cover various important aspects of
pharmacology, including drug utilization study, rationality of drug prescribing,
prescription audit, self-medication practices and medical education. His ability to
conduct thorough research and present it in an accessible manner has made a
significant impact, showcasing his dedication to advancing medical knowledge. His
international publications are a testament to his hard work, attention to detail, and
commitment to scientific integrity.
He has also conducted comprehensive hands-on training sessions focused on
Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) reporting through various established methods, as
well as on the principles and practices of pharmacovigilance, across multiple medical
teaching institutions in India. These sessions were designed to equip healthcare
professionals and students with the necessary skills to identify, assess, and report
ADRs effectively, while fostering a deeper understanding of the importance of
pharmacovigilance in ensuring patient safety and drug efficacy. Through these
workshops, Dr. Das has contributed significantly to promoting best practices in drug
safety monitoring within the medical community.
In addition to his academic and research accomplishments, Dr. Das has participated
in workshops such as the ACCP and GCP sessions, antimicrobial research, clinical

and experimental Pharmacology sessions, pharmacovigilance and ADR reporting
workshops and hands-on-training sessions, BLS and ACLS workshop and hands-on-
training, ethical regulations in human research which emphasize good clinical
practice and ethical research standards. His performance in these workshops,
especially his award-winning work, highlights his commitment to maintaining the
highest standards of clinical research. These experiences have further strengthened
his expertise in clinical trial protocols, ethical research conduct, and the application
of pharmacological principles in a clinical setting.
As he continues his journey in the field of pharmacology, Dr. Pranab Das remains
focused on pushing the boundaries of medical research. His achievements thus far,
including conference presentations, international publications, and award-winning
contributions, underscore his potential as a future leader in the field. His educational
background, combined with his research prowess and active involvement in
