Each of these innovations has been granted a published status with provisional patent numbers. My ongoing research includes three articles currently under review in an esteemed journal, with one already finalized for publication. My primary research interests revolve around special needs dentistry, particularly the prevalence and management of oral diseases in patients with disabilities. During my internship, I gained invaluable clinical exposure by screening over 200 patients and conducting a comprehensive case study at the National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (NIEPMD) under the Ministry of Social Justice, Government of India. This opportunity allowed me to interact with multidisciplinary departments dedicated to disability care. As part of my commitment to raising awareness, I also delivered a presentation on “Prevalence of Malocclusion in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder”, emphasizing its impact on oral hygiene and orthodontic concerns. My enthusiasm for advanced printing technologies in dentistry is reflected in my research and publications. My work explores the integration of 3D, 4D printing and digital fabrication techniques in the development of customized oral hygiene tools, particularly for patients with special needs. By leveraging these technologies, I aim to revolutionize oral care strategies and enhance patient compliance and motivation. In recognition of my academic and research contributions, I was honored with the IDA Molaris Award 2024 as the “Upcoming Scholar in Periodontics” by the IDA Thiruvallur Branch. Additionally, I secured third place and a cash award in a prestigious Project Day competition, where I showcased my patented oral hygiene innovations. With an unwavering commitment to clinical excellence, research, and innovation, I strive to advance the field of periodontology and contribute meaningfully to improving oral healthcare accessibility, particularly for individuals with special needs.
