KANAK CHANDRA SARMA, M.Tech., is the Ph.D scholar of the National Institute of Technology, Silchar, Assam, India and Lecturer ( Senior Scale) of Mechanical Engineering at the Silchar Polytechnic College, Assam, India. Mr. Sarma received his B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from Jorhat Engineering College , Assam and his M.Tech. from National Institute of technology, Silchar, Assam. Currently, he is Pursuing Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from National Institute of technology, Silchar, Assam.<br /> He started his professional carrier as Graduate Trainee at Oil India Limited, Duliajan and Bongaigaon Refinery and Petrochemical Limited, Assam from 1999 to 2002. Then he joined as M&U Engineer at The Prag Bosimi Synthetics Limited, Assam from 2002 to 2006. He received a appreciation letter from PBSL for his excellence performance on duty in 2004. Afterwards, he joined as Mechanical Engineer in the Assam Petroleum Limited under ONGC from 2006 to 2008. Now at present, for over 15 years, he is servicing as Lecturer (Senior Scale) in Mechanical Engineering at the Silchar Polytechnic College, Assam, India. He is a associate member of the Institution of Engineers (India). He has participated more than 25 numbers short term training programmes conducted by National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research (NITTTR), Kolkata, National Institute of Technology, Silchar, Assam Science and Technology University(ASTU), Guwahati, Assam Engineering College, Guwahati, GB Pant Institute of Engineering and Technology, Pauri, Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology, Guwahati, and Silchar Polytechnic, Silchar, Assam.<br /> As a research fellow, his area of specialization is renewable energy under the domain of multi bladed double stage Savonius – akin hydrokinetic turbine at low flow velocity conditions to improve the performances. Mr. Sarma have published 4 numbers SCI papers and 2 numbers international conference papers. He has attended one international conference. Recently, he has published one Patent in Federal Republic of Germany and another Patent in India is in progress.
