I am Mrs. Praseena Kotheri, honored to receive the International Best Researcher Award for my
work on “A Review on Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy: Pathophysiology, Diagnosis, and
Pharmacotherapy” at the International Science, Technology & Research Awards (ISTRA
2024). I serve as an Associate Professor at the National College of Pharmacy, KMCT
Calicut,Kerala, bringing over 10 years of experience in the field. I completed my Bachelor of
Pharmacy at Government Medical College, Kannur University,Kerala and my MPharm in
Pharmaceutics at Al Shifa College of Pharmacy, Kerala University of Health Sciences,Kerala.
My research interests encompass patient- related and disease-related studies, as well as
nanotechnology in medical treatments. I have attended more than 200 national and international
seminars, presenting both oral and poster presentations. I also guide undergraduate and
postgraduate students in their projects. My own undergraduate project focused on the
“Evaluation of Anthelmintic Activity of Alstonia venenata,” while my postgraduate research
centered on the “Formulation and Evaluation of Phyllanthin Loaded Chitosan
Nanoparticles.” My research interest in the field of nanotechnology stems from a deep
fascination with its potential to revolutionize various industries, from medicine to materials
science.
I was awarded the Second prize for my poster presentation at the National Conference on
Challenges in Drug Delivery Research held at Amrita School of Pharmacy, Kochi,Kerala on
November 8-9, 2013. I was honored to receive the First prize at the AIDS day National level
poster presentation competition in 2010 ,where I showcased my innovative ideas on
nanomaterials and their applications.
Participated in several Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) focusing on emerging trends in
pharmaceutical sciences, and attended workshops. I attended several impactful seminars and
webinars that enriched my understanding of pharmaceutical sciences. In 2021, I participated in
the seminar on Quality by Design (QbD) in formulation development and the overview of
Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) at Krishna Teja Pharmacy College, Tirupati. I also engaged in
the ATAL program on "Personal Effectiveness in the Teaching-Learning Process: A
Pharmaceutical Perspective" at the National College of Pharmacy, Calicut, Kerala. Additionally,
I took part in the QIP on “Development & Evaluation of Biopharmaceutical Products” at
Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2021. In 2022, I attended the international
webinar “PRIP INNOVATE 7” focused on scientific achievements in nano drug targeting at
Pulla Reddy Institute of Pharmacy, Telangana. I also participated in a Faculty Development
Program (FDP) on emerging trends in pharmaceutical sciences at KVR Siddhartha College of
Pharmaceutical Sciences, Andhra Pradesh. Moreover, I joined the international webinar on

“Lipid Nano Pharmaceuticals: From Concept to Clinics” organized by The Indian
Pharmaceutical Association and another on decoding nanoformulations used in pharmaceuticals
and vaccines at Chemist College of Pharmaceutical Sciences & Research, Ernakulam, Kerala.
I also attended the 64 th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress at SRM University, Chennai, in
December 2012, and participated in “PHARMATRENDZ 2013” at the Academy of
Pharmaceutical Sciences in Pariyaram, Kannur, during November 2013.
Additionally, I took part in the 6th National Pharmaceutical Conference, “Advances in
Pharmaceutical Research: An Interdisciplinary Approach,” at Nehru College of Pharmacy,
Pampady, from November 16-17, 2012.
My research has led to several publications, including A Review on Diabetic Peripheral
neuropathy in the journal Pharmaceutical Science and Research, IJPSR (2024), Volume 15,
Issue 7,E-ISSN: 0975-8232; P-ISSN: 2320-5148.
A research paper on Formulation and evaluation of phyllanthin-loaded chitosan
nanoparticles in indo American journal of pharmaceutical sciences IAJPS 2018, 05 (04),
2644-2649.
A research paper on Development, Characterization, And Investigation Of Anti-Inflammatory
Potential Of Lumiracoxib Topical Gel, ISSN 2063-5346
I also published work in a national journal on current innovations in transdermal drug
delivery.
I completed an NPTEL online certification course in Biomedical Nanotechnology from IIT
Roorkee, on best practices in teaching and research. My industrial exposure includes visits to
AstraZeneca Pharma India Pvt. Ltd. in Bangalore and Cipla Ltd. in Goa, both in 2010, which
provided valuable insights into the pharmaceutical industry.
I have gained hands-on experience with a variety of specialized laboratory equipment essential
for research and analysis. My expertise includes operating the Dissolution Test Apparatus, DS
8000 (LABINDIA), which is crucial for assessing the release rates of pharmaceuticals. I have
also utilized the Probe Sonicator, KS-250F (PCI Analytics), for ultrasonic cell disruption,
enhancing sample preparation processes. My experience with the FTIR Spectrometer, Alpha-E
(BRUKER), has allowed me to conduct detailed molecular analysis. Additionally, I have worked
with the Minipress-1 Tablet Punching Machine (RIMEK) for tablet formulation, and I am
proficient in using the Programmable Environmental Test Chamber, CHM 6S (REMI), for
stability studies. Furthermore, I am familiar with the U.V/Visible Spectrophotometer, UV-1700
(SCHIMADZU), for quantifying analytes, making me well-equipped for various research
applications.
