Dr. A.M.Priyangani Adikari has won the International Best Researcher of the Year Award in
Economics 2024 at the International Science, Technology and Research Awards (ISTRA).
Dr.Adikari is working as a Senior Lecturer in Economics in the Department of Economics,
Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, where she has
worked for almost 15 years. Her groundbreaking research earned her the Best Research Award
for Economics, solidifying her as a leading figure in her field.
Her academic interests include International Economics and Financial Economics. She is
passionate about teaching undergraduate students in English, and Sinhala medium. She earned
her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, and she
furthered her education by obtaining a Master of Arts in Economics in 2009 and a Master of
Philosophy in Economics in 2015 from the University of Kelaniya in Sri Lanka. Dr. Adikari
achieved her doctoral degree in 2023 from Huazhong University of Science and Technology
(HUST) in China, solidifying her expertise in her field. Dr.Adikari s most notable achievement is
winning the “Academic Excellence Award -2020-2021” for her Excellency from Huazhong
University of Science and Technology (HUST) in China.
Her academic achievements reflect a relentless pursuit of excellence and a commitment to
advancing knowledge in Economics. Her extensive work includes authoring and co-authoring
more than 50 national and international publications across diverse domains, including
international trade and macroeconomic policies. In addition to her research roles, she is assuming
the prestigious position as a reviewer of the Journal of Cleaner Production, Economic Policy, and
Analysis published by Elsevier, Samodhana Journal published by the Faculty of Social Sciences
and Humanities, Rajarata Journal of Economic Review published by the Department of
Economics in Rajarata University of Sri Lanka.
Dr. Adikari is a dedicated and accomplished academic professional with a passion for fostering
the next generation of researchers in guiding and mentoring numerous scholars in their academic
pursuits.
