I have always been interested in the underlying causes for the development of diseases and the
mechanisms in which treatment works. This lead me towards Microbiology and the study of the
minute mechanisms of the origin of diseases . After marriage,I shifted to the bustling city of
Chennai and pursued M.D. in Microbiology at Government Kilpauk Medical College ,
Chennai. Here , I was guided by experts like Dr.Thyagarajan Ravinder who opened my eyes to
the intricacies of the work we do and how each report generated affects the patient. The
foundation of molecular biology and its role in diagnostics and research was laid in my mind and
this lead to build an inquisitive and curious researcher.
I am a Consultant Microbiologist and Infection Control Officer at Frontier Lifeline
