Dr. Krutthika Hirebasur Krishnappa has won the title of ASTRA 2024 under " Computer Architecture
and Design."
Dr. Krutthika is a highly accomplished professional with a Ph.D. in Computer Networks and extensive
experience in academia and research. Her academic credentials include a Ph.D. and a Master of
Technology from esteemed institutions in India, complemented by a Bachelor of Engineering degree.
With over 14 years of professional experience, she currently holds the position of Assistant Professor
at Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA.  Prior to this, she spent
over a decade in a similar capacity back in India. Dr. Krutthika’s research interests are diverse,
encompassing Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Advanced Computer Networks,
Cybersecurity, and more.
Her illustrious career includes the development of a state-of-the-art Quantum Computing lab,
which stands as a testament to her innovative approach and commitment to advancing research in
cutting-edge technologies. Under her leadership as a Principal Investigator, the Quantum Computing
lab was conceptualized and established as a hub for groundbreaking research in the field. She plays a
pivotal role in securing funding, designing the lab infrastructure, and acquiring the necessary
equipment and resources to facilitate high-quality research. The Quantum Computing lab serves as a
dynamic environment where interdisciplinary teams collaborate to explore the vast potential of
quantum technologies. Her vision and guidance have enabled researchers and students to delve into

computing research. Moreover, she has actively fostered partnerships with research institutions and

endeavors, contributing to groundbreaking papers across diverse fields such as Artificial Intelligence,

under her mentorship.
Dr. Krutthika has secured significant funding as Principal Investigator from Louisiana Board of
Regents, IBM for Graduate Fellowships for the term 2023-2024 and Co-Principal Investigator for the
Climate Smart Initiative proposal funded by United States Department of Agriculture. These funding
sources highlight Dr. Krutthika’s leadership and commitment to impactful research across
cybersecurity, agriculture, and emerging technologies.
She excels in overseeing committees, implementing innovative teaching methodologies, mentoring
students, and spearheading research endeavors. Her prolific publication history in international
